In Luke 15: 4, Jesus says, “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine … and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” The goal is to bring lost strays back into the safety the many enjoy.”
In John 10: 9-11 Jesus said 9I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Instead of laying down his/her life for the betterment of the sheep, the “tyranny of one” is used to violate this principle and Prov. 22: 28, which says “Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set.” Landmarks are traditional physical, moral and customary boundaries.
The people abusing the power of the American government are playing on our sympathies for the lost one to twist the principle Christ gives us, by elevating as underdogs the ones who should be encouraged to return from offbeat behaviors, habits and lifestyles the Bible calls sin, but which we are told are rights that the 99 need to conform to and accommodate. They intentionally are compromising the 99, under the guise of giving rights to the one.
We must understand it is not the tyranny of the lone offended atheist, who says “There is no God,” nor the agnostic, who says, “There may be a God, but I don’t want any reminders of Him in my personal space”, nor is it the one who may say he/she is offended by any display, Judeo-Christian Biblical thought or expression, who is able to stop prayer at sports events or pledging allegiance to the flag and saying “one nation under God”. We need to be aware that individual people do not have the power to suppress those expressions.
That tyranny of one actually is the government, represented by its agents the politicians, judges, and school administrators who take it upon themselves to enforce suppression of Biblical truths in the name of, or on behalf of the one who claims to be offended.
Why should the party who claims to be offended stop debate, discussions and infringe upon everyone else’s free speech rights?
Biblical suppression is suppression of common sense. Both the Bible and common sense tells us that God made us male and female. Common sense tells us that males and females do not belong in the same bathrooms. Romans 1:22 says “Professing themselves to be wise they became as fools.”
Tyrannical power abusers use the one to injure the 99. That’s the tyranny America’s founding fathers gave us 99 the ability to redress for grievances. By contrast, Jesus seeks and calls the one to be lifted up in the liberty His other 99 are blessed to enjoy.
